DZ update - 2008/10/09 11:14 Hello there!

I wanted to fill everyone in on what was going on and where the DZ stands.

First, I want to personally apologize for not being better at communicating with all of you. As you know, running a dropzone is not easy, and we have learned the hard way that the less you tell people, the less they can use against you or sabotage your plans. It's really hard to get out of that mentality, but we have a wonderful group of jumpers and the last thing Paul and I want is to lose any of you to rumors. So, with faith that it won't come back to bite me, here's the update:

First things first: We are NOT closing the dropzone. Paul and I have poured our heart and soul into this business for three long years, and we have built a wonderful family and had a lot of fun doing it. We're not giving up on all of you for anything!

But, as many of you know, we are no longer leasing the Beech, which means we are in the process of looking for a new aircraft. We have several things going, but at this time of year aircraft leasors are looking for long-term (winter) commitments. Our last court date with the city is next week, and although we're confident we will once again win, we don't want to commit to anything until that's fully behind us. So, barring an aircraft miracle, we will be closed again this weekend.

Also, I wanted to thank all of you for your ongoing support, and want you to know that our jumper-family is a big part of our decision-making process. We want the dropzone to succeed as much as you do!

Blue skies (and missing you all),
Jo

Re:DZ update - 2008/10/11 20:50 Hang in there guys myself and shelly have you in our prayers and think of you guys often. It sucks in Texas without our BG family and we have went to the DZ here once but did not get a warm reception at all. In their defence we were only dropping our rigs off to get a reserve repack. We spoke tonight briefly about selling our gear but didnt come to a decision as of yet. It just doesnt seem the same. I think we will give the DZ here a chance once our rigs are ready to go and then see how we feel then. Anyway hang in there we will continue to pray for all you guys and think of you as we can.

We Love you all,
chuck and shelly

Re:DZ update - 2008/10/12 21:55 Finally some clarification. Yes, I'm a bit sore about my rig (I'll explain later) and not having the round robin I was so hoping for

When you get your stuff together I will be back to jump. I do love your DZ and realize it has a lot to offer. To me the place felt like my home away from home; I was comfortable there.

In the meantime, I've found another small jump club to finish my A license. I wish you both the best of luck and truely I look forward to jumping at BG again.

I will check in occasionally to look for updates. I gave up on the telelphone number.

Take care,

Re:DZ update - 2008/10/13 09:31 Thanks for keeping us updated. Life is always a roller coaster (done correctly) but the last year has been wild. I'll keep my fingers crossed everything goes well with the city & I want to do a doe-c-doe (?) with Paul on the first flight in what ever aircraft!

Re:DZ update - 2008/11/17 15:50 Hey jo, sorry to hear the status of the DZ. I've been trying to pickup my rig for the last 4 of the last 5 Sundays - any chance that can be arranged ? |It was left there for a reserve repack in septamber before I left for Canada.
Would appreciate any help ( from anyone, i.e marcus, markcook, etc.). Hard to skydive without my gear.
