Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/26 16:19 And just think, that was the afternoon jump, after the sun came out and it warmed up a little!

Don't know about everyone else, but the worst part for me was flying and landing my canopy with numb hands and not being able to feel the toggles!

It was worth every shiver on the way down. Thanks again everybody!

WooHoo!

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/26 16:28 By the way, did anyone ever get the name of that "8th Jumper", on those two loads? You know, the one we all paid a few extra bucks for, to fill out the manifest? Someone needs to come up with a name, for future use, rather than writing down "Split 8th" on the manifest! LOL

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/26 16:43 The 8th jumper was "numb nuts", DNR's twin brother...

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/26 22:56 God Bless his soul, but I'm sure my brother had nothing to do with that 8th jump. However, in spirit he might have been there because I lived.

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/27 07:20 I'd bet he wasn't the only one that froze that particular part of his anatomy off that day! And I know it wasn't my twin brother.(Unless something's changed in the 20 years he's been gone, hell he couldn't even climb a 6 foot step ladder, the wuffo!)

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/27 10:04 Brian - you should know a little cold weather isn't going to stop us - you guys were missed!!

I do beleive my favorite part was the lady who flew in for gas who walked in the hanger and said "You guys are jumping? Isn't that cold? I bet there are parts of your body that won't descend until June!!!" We should of taken her on a tandem.

I forgot about her! I was wondering what "Parts" she was talking about when she said that!?!

You know, it really wasn't all that cold!

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/27 13:19 Well I admit, my fingers felt like they almost on fire because they were so damn cold, I did riser turns until I could get my hands in my toggles because they were so cold. I'm ready for colder now!! DNR

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/27 13:37 The only part that I didn't like was trying to daisy chain to carry everything to the hanger, my fingers wouldn't bend which made it kind of a painful experiance! But what the hey, bring it one, I'm game for more cold weather!

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/29 07:30 Hey Mark, quit sucking up! LOL You sound like you're trying to get a 3-Way going (RW?)!!!

While I'm on here, anyone know of a decent pair of warm skydiving gloves that don't cost a fortune? I don't mind jumping in cold weather but I'd like to be able to feel my hands when I'm flying.

EG

Re:Thanksgiving Weekend - 2007/11/29 13:05 I know but I have to give him some trouble some time!

Perv? Moi? Well, yeah, okay.....

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd really like to find a good pair of cold weather gloves.
