Thought of the Day - 2007/11/30 11:12 If your parachute fails, remember that you have the rest of your life to fix it!

Of course my advise is don't jump a round parachute and this will not be a problem...

Unless you are Mark, in which case you will never get to have a cut away.....

This reminds me of the "when you jump out of the plane you are dead until you decide to do something about it" quote

Glad I didn't hear of this one BEFORE i started skydiving.

Happy Friday!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/04 15:38 No need to worry, it's night and it's dark! Just aim for the Blinking Lights! Just make sure your not following an ambulance or police car!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/04 15:46 How sweet would that be to land on an ambulance...if you got hurt, immediate assistance is just below you...

Bond...James Bond...

Did Bond ever parachute in any of his movies? I wonder if he an AAD on his rig?

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/04 21:10 I remember at least one Bond movie where he jumped......I think it was Moonraker.....he jumped out of a plane with no chute and chased Jaws in a heads-down and stole the chute. If only!!!

Dang, I just LOVE Bond movies - the older ones! Sean Connery - my hero!!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/04 22:36 Nope, pulled too low, so he has to repeat a few. Plus, lousy tracking.

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/05 06:58 What was the name of the Bond movie where "Bond, James Bond" is skiing down the slopes with guys chasing him and shooting at him and he skis off the cliff, into a freefall then opens?

How in the hell did we get into this convesation? LOL

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/06 00:29 Guess who got us on Bond - our Mr Way With Words, aka DNR....

You know, I've seen the one your referring to, Eric, but the title wont' come to mind at the moment. I keep wanting to say Goldfinger, but I don't think it's that one.

Dang, now I'll be wondering all night until I can get to a point in the movie, in my head, to recall the title! Thanks a lot!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/06 07:16 No problem Deb! Anything to keep one of my fellow skydivers awake all night! But then, if you have to be awake (or asleep for that matter) thinking about something, i guess skiing off a cliff with a rig on your back ain't all bad!

WooHoo!
Head Down!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/06 14:48 Oh Yea! And there was the Bond where the evil chick jumped off the Eiffel Tower, in Apris and pulled a chute.

Ok, so who's game for re-inacting the Bond skydiving scenes with me? Sorry, but I'll pass on the one where he jumps with no parachute (to chase Jaws and steal his rig in freefall). I'll at least waiting until I have my B before trying that one. Gotta have goals, ya know!

Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/06 15:05 That would make for a sweet youtube video to chase someone in freefall to use their rig; you could track and chase so much more because you wouldn't have a wingloading. Colleen, how bad was the flare in that movie? I like watching Man Vs Wild (with Bear Grylls) and how he gets out of tough places; he always parachutes in and then uses those canopy lines to start fires and kill rabbits and stuff. Thanks Bear!! Re:Thought of the Day - 2007/12/06 15:26 You know, I'm thinking someone should bring these movies to the DZ this weekend. And, on top of it, Fandango and Point Break. It would be entertainment for sure!

FYI - It's snowing. Ack!
