Skydiving Center Weekly Update January 29th, 2008

What a weekend! You would almost think Spring was in the air – Beech loads – people pealing off layers to stay cool – open hanger with the sunshine pouring in – and who could forget all the JUMPERS!

We got off to a GREAT start Saturday. With full Beech loads in the middle of January it’s a good thing Marcus has decided to take on the task of training a 2nd pair of hands. Nathan was soaking in all the secrets of the packing mat and learning what it’s like to spend an entire day with a bunch of crazy skydivers. Let’s just hope Marcus doesn’t need too much help – word out on the tarmac is that Nathan will be 18 here shortly, and I have a feeling he’s going to want a real piece of the action…

We had TWO bell ringers this weekend!! Thank you to Minh for being part of my very first coach jump! You know, it’s even more fun when you are working with a friend at your own DZ (don’t get me wrong, Bram was great!) and I sure am looking forward to doing more coach jumps in the coming months.

The bell ringing didn’t stop there… Sunday was a full day for Bowling Green’s newest and VERY talented new tandem instructor – Mark Cook! Mark did FIVE tandems Sunday (and what great passengers he had…)! I think we’ve finally found a way to keep Mark from doing that crazy rag doll head down thing he does! We are so proud of you Mark – you and any passenger under 200lbs really are going to give the videographers a run for their money!! Congrats on your newest rating and don’t forget you owe “beer” for ringing the bell!

DNR showed up with his new deer-hunting suit this weekend… it makes a pretty good jumpsuit too! If you miss DNR in freefall you must be blind!

Thank you to everyone who let me jump with them to try out the camera suit. You know, I’ll get the hang of it eventually!

Dustin, AKA Ditch made us a visit on Sunday – congrats on passing you’re A license test Dustin! Now you just need to finish healing up and come get current!

We had so many great people out this weekend… Twiggy, Jim and Lindel had some great free fly skydives! Paul, Rich, Greg, Sparky, Craig, Brain, Suzette, Gary, Colleen… What a crowd! Thank you to Joe Jackson for organizing some very fun RW jumps!

The Beech was well used this weekend, we just couldn’t seem to give her a break! The warm weather had us all ready for Spring – It’s just around the corner!!

For those who missed a great time we hope to see you soon! We have the Super Bowl party this upcoming Sunday (or as I like to call it – the Super Bowl Commercial Party) and in just a couple short weeks we have the Freeze Fest Boogie! Thanks again to all of those who came out and played with us – see you Saturday!
